Throughout the first quarter of 2023, the leading air travel apps on the Android platform in the United Arab Emirates demonstrated diverse trends in downloads, active users, and revenue. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top 5 apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

flydubai saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 2K at the beginning of January and peaking at 2.7K in the week of February 20. However, the downloads dipped slightly towards the end of March, stabilizing at approximately 2.2K. The app maintained a consistent growth in weekly active users, rising from 3.1K in late December to about 3.8K by mid-February, before experiencing a slight decrease to 3.4K by the end of March. Revenue data for the app remained at zero throughout the quarter.

Flightradar24 Flight Tracker experienced fluctuating weekly downloads, starting with 2.2K at the end of December and dropping to 1.4K by the end of March. The active user base showed a similar trend, beginning at 4.4K and ending at 3.8K. The app’s revenue peaked at $517 in the week of January 9 but generally hovered around $300-$400 for the rest of the quarter.

Emirates started the year with 1.8K weekly downloads, which increased to over 2K in early March, before stabilizing around 1.8K by the end of the quarter. Active users also saw a steady increase from 4K at the end of December to 4.6K by mid-March, before slightly declining to 4.2K. The app did not generate any revenue during this period.

Wizz Air - Book, Travel & Save exhibited a varied download pattern, starting with 1.7K downloads in late December and peaking at 2.2K in mid-January. The numbers then fluctuated, ending the quarter at around 1.8K. Active users showed a similar trend, starting at 4.2K and peaking at 4.6K mid-January, then fluctuating to end at 4.3K. Revenue remained at zero throughout the quarter.

Air Arabia (official app) saw its weekly downloads start at 1.4K in late December and peak at 2K in mid-February before declining to around 1.5K by the end of March. Active users increased from 4.5K at the end of December to 5.5K by mid-March, before settling at 4.8K. The app did not generate any revenue during this period.
